Last Updated: October 2026

Welcome to Pretty Potions. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website ([https://www.prettypotions.co.uk]) and the purchase of any bath, body, and personal hygiene cosmetic products from us.

By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms, alongside our [Privacy Policy] and [Cookie Policy]. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or purchase our products.

1. Information About Us

  • Business Name: Pretty Potions ("we", "us", "our")

  • Trading Address: [Insert Business Address, UK]

  • Email: support@prettypotions.co.uk

  • Website: [https://www.prettypotions.co.uk]

2. Eligibility & Account Creation

  • To place an order, you must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid payment method acceptable to our third-party payment providers.

  • If you create an account via our customer portal (/my/account), you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your username and password, as well as restricting access to your computer or device. You agree to notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. Products & Product Descriptions

  • Handcrafted Nature: Many of our products (including soaps, bath bombs, and body scrubs) are handmade in small batches. As a result, minor variations in color, pattern, shape, and weight may occur between batches. These natural variations do not constitute a product defect.

  • Accuracy: We take every care to ensure that product descriptions, ingredient listings, and images are accurate. However, colors displayed on your screen may vary slightly depending on monitor settings.

  • Packaging: Packaging materials and container styles may occasionally vary depending on supply availability, while upholding all cosmetic safety and hygiene standards.

4. Cosmetic Safety, Allergens & Usage Instructions

  • Regulatory Compliance: All Pretty Potions cosmetic products comply with the UK Cosmetics Regulation (Schedule 34 of the Product Safety and Metrology etc. (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019) and hold valid Cosmetic Product Safety Reports (CPSR).

  • Patch Testing: Our products contain natural oils, butters, botanical extracts, and essential oils or skin-safe fragrances. We strongly recommend reading the full Ingredients (INCI) list before purchase and conducting a 24-hour patch test on a small area of skin before first use.

  • External Use Only: All products are strictly for external use. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. If accidental eye contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with clean running water.

  • Medical Disclaimer: Our products are personal hygiene and cosmetic items; they are not medicines and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition or skin disorder. If you are pregnant, nursing, have an existing medical condition, or have severe allergies, consult a healthcare professional before use.

  • Storage: Store products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, excess moisture, and extreme heat to maintain freshness and integrity.

5. Orders, Pricing & Payment

  • Order Acceptance: When you place an order, you will receive an automatic Order Confirmation email acknowledging receipt. This does not mean your order has been accepted. Contract completion takes place when we dispatch the goods and send you a Dispatch Confirmation.

  • Cancellations by Us: We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order if:

    • An item is out of stock or discontinued.

    • We identify an inadvertent pricing or description error.

    • Authorization for your payment cannot be obtained.

  • Prices: All prices are displayed in Pounds Sterling (£ GBP). We reserve the right to alter prices at any time without prior notice; price changes will not affect orders already confirmed.

  • Payment: Payments are processed securely via third-party PCI-DSS compliant providers (such as Stripe or PayPal). Payment is debited at the time of order placement.

6. Delivery & Shipping

  • Dispatch Times: Standard dispatch is typically within 1–3 business days from order confirmation (excluding weekends and UK bank holidays), subject to stock availability and seasonal busy periods.

  • Couriers: Orders are delivered using reputable UK delivery services (e.g., Royal Mail, DPD, Evri). Delivery tracking information is provided via email once dispatched.

  • Address Accuracy: You are responsible for providing complete and accurate shipping details. We cannot be held liable for delayed or lost parcels resulting from incorrect addresses provided at checkout.

  • Damaged in Transit: If an item arrives broken or damaged, please photograph the outer packaging and damaged product and contact us at support@prettypotions.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery with your order number.

7. Consumer Rights: Cancellations, Returns & Hygiene Exclusions

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, UK consumers generally have 14 days to cancel an online order. However, strict legal exemptions apply to cosmetic and hygiene goods:

  • Hygiene & Safety Exclusion (Crucial): For health protection and hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns or offer refunds on any cosmetic, bath, soap, or skincare product that has been unsealed, opened, or used after delivery.

  • Unopened Products (14-Day Right to Cancel): You may return unopened, unused products in their original, sealed packaging within 14 days of receipt.

    • To initiate a return, email support@prettypotions.co.uk with your order number.

    • You are responsible for paying direct return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error or a damaged/faulty item.

    • Returned items must be packaged securely; refunds will only be processed upon receipt and inspection of the goods.

  • Faulty or Defective Goods: Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if any product is demonstrably faulty or misdescribed, you are entitled to a replacement or full refund. Please retain the item and its batch code so we can investigate.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

  • We are not liable for:

    • Any adverse reaction or skin irritation resulting from misuse or failure to review ingredient listings or perform a patch test.

    • Indirect, consequential, or economic loss (including loss of profits, business, or goodwill).

    • Delays or failure to perform obligations caused by events outside our reasonable control (Force Majeure), such as courier strikes, extreme weather, postal disruptions, or natural disasters.

9. Intellectual Property

All content published on this website—including brand names, logos, product names, text, graphics, product photography, and packaging design—is the intellectual property of Pretty Potions and protected by UK and international copyright, design, and trademark laws. Unauthorized reproduction or use is strictly prohibited.

10. Customer Feedback & User Content

If you submit product reviews, comments, or suggestions, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, and publish that feedback on our website, social media channels, and marketing collateral.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to amend these Terms from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory updates. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the website following any changes signifies your agreement to the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

You and Pretty Potions agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings in their local courts.
